A 30-year-old man from Arunachal Pradesh's Lower Dibang Valley district was burnt alive inside his car after the vehicle met with an accident on Sunday night, police said.
Police said that the incident happened at Meka area of Arunachal Pradesh's Roing town at around 10pm on Sunday and his charred body was later recovered.
The deceased, identified as Jeevan Lakra, a resident of Dambuk, was traveling to Roing in his vehicle when it rammed into a tractor coming from the opposite direction, police said. Moments later, the vehicle caught fire and Lakra was unable to get out. He died on the spot.
Police said the fire brigade team managed to open the doors by breaking the glasses. The driver was unconscious, and his body was severely burnt. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where the doctors declared him dead,” a police official said.
Lakra's family, however, alleged that his death could be a conspiracy. Police said that they are investigating the matter, but no case has been registered yet.
“We have sent the body for postmortem and the reason behind the death will be clear once we get the report,” said the police official.

But for those who care to know the technicality of it and why they word it like that. Only a certified medical professional like a doctor or nurse, etc, are allowed to declare a human/person "officially" dead for all intents and purposes including burying someone or stopping first aid care on a dying patient.
So the dead body here or "body that is burnt to the bone" will still need to be taken to a hospital and/or inspected by a medical professional such as a coroner for signs of life ( which clearly in this case is zero lol) and then they are officially declared dead.

I mean sure in this case it can seem like it . But where do you draw the line? What if his body was intact but he wasn't breathing. Would you automatically declare him dead?
There have been instances of people being buried alive! Back in the day, they used to bury people with a rope that connected to a bell above ground. If they were buried alive, then they rang the bell to be dug out!
Its to prevent situations like that. Better to waste money and resources than to bury someone alive or in this case stop trying to do first aid of trying to rescue someone just because you or the person close to them thinks they are dead. But they could still survive.

If his body was intact and he wasnt breathing, that's a much higher chance of survival or even revival if they can resuscitate him. But a charred skeleton is very different. It's clear that the guy is gone. Should've been pronounced dead at the scene like they do with fatal car accidents and such

I get you fam. I do agree with you that its a waste of resources.
But its the same reason a serial killer or a school shooter gets a full trial and due process even though there is HARD proof that they are guilty. Its just the rules of society to ensure a line is drawn and everyone has a standard to maintain. I was merely explaining why the article was worded like that and why they had to pronounce the person dead at the hospital and not at the scene.

Looks like only the outter surfaces have burnt off. His innards will still help a coroner declare a cause of death. For a layman like us , its obvious that the COD was accident and a fire.
But coroners are more precise and have a primary and secondary and tertiary causes of deaths. Like Blunt force trauma - leading to internal injuries - paralyzing lower body - died from fire burns and smoke inhalation. Etc.
Also you will be surprised the vast amount of knowledge coroners can extrapolate from an autopsy.
