What a crazy thing to survive. Lucky guy. I feel bad for him too though, losing his friend like that.

It was a fast moving fire.. the people on that road had little chance to escape....

I used to live on that same road...

86 people died that day... Most were in their cars or in the street trying to escape.... It was a shit day

I hope i don’t sound dumb to ask this but what usually starts these wildfires and how often do they happen. It seems i hear about them on the news alot and i can’t understand why ppl choose to stay there. RIP to them all. Terrible way to die!

Well, this fire along with a lot of other "wildfires" here in California was caused by faulty power lines...

Pacific gas and electric failed to properly maintain the lines...

Some of the other things that cause fires in this area are lightning, camp fires, lawnmowers, vehicles, arson, and out of control burn piles....

But the number one cause in recent years has been PG&e followed by lightning then arson

Oh ok. Thank you. That is so sad. And especially arson that somebody would intentionally do this. Couldn’t imagine how those ppl felt knowing they were trapped. So sad!

This fire was moving the distance of a football field every minute, and it created it's on weather within the fire area so the people who got trapped didn't have much time to think...

When I got into my truck and left my house the fire was over a mile away, but it had already passed me before I got to the end of my road... I watched a police SUV burn to nearly nothing in less than 20 minutes while I was stuck on the road...

I also saw what I can only describe as a tornado made a fire that morning...

I still live in the same town.... In my neighborhood we had more time to escape, but the fire burn the whole town
