Now this is a treat! Only ever seen a few videos where the eyes move after a clean decap. It makes you wonder if he was conscious for a few seconds afterwards and he was able to register the disconnect and what just happene. In my opinion because this was done so clean, I'd imagine he still had enough oxygen rich blood to process thought and perhaps sensation. It wouldn't last long given the rapid evacuation of oxygenated blood leaving his brain but it was still there. His brain was probably overloaded with peculiar sensations and feelings. Truly otherworldly and alien.

I imagine there's a little pain around the throat area but no other pain since it's all been disconnected.

According to a paper published in Cureus, people lose consciousness within seconds of being decapitated. This is because the brain's higher functions stop working when the blood supply and oxygen are cut off. Some say that people can remain conscious for around 4–5 seconds after decapitation, which would be enough time for the severed head to fall and roll around.
A laboratory study that used EEG monitoring on rats found that they became unconscious within 3–4 seconds of decapitation. The study also found that a large wave recorded by the EEG about a minute after decapitation is likely a sign of brain death.

It wasnt "extensively experimented". What the "doctor" saw was involuntary movement of eyes and eyelids. No one is staying conscious longer than 2-3 seconds after a decapitation like that. Brain without blood pressure goes night night very quickly, youve probably had some vertigo yourself if youve stood up too fast. Thats a minor drop in cranial blood pressure. A decapitation is a total drop. 99% of people would instantly black out, before you could react.
They didnt know any of this back then, we do now so yeah myth busted. Why do you think blood chokes in MMA and BJJ work so well? theyre capable of putting people to sleep in seconds. Sleep, as in not conscious anymore. A properly applied one will put anyone to sleep in seconds, and again thats not a total drop because the arteries arent completely shut close.

That was done I think during a French beheading once. If you look into history on it I think you will find it. The head was asked a question and if I remember correctly the "head" did respond.... of sorts. Then the head went lifeless very soon after.
