Exactly second, fourth, fifth and last. The blood doesn't instantly splatter everywhere by a mere pistol. Ricardo Lopez most likely wanted to splatter his blood over the sign behind him, but he couldn't because it wasn't powerful enough. Reminder, it was a revolver, most are stronger than pistols. 3/4 clips have blood splatters coming from behind the head, and not to mention the second dudes delayed reaction (somehow the blood splatters before he even shoots.) Not only that, his body apparently went numb after he comfortably laid down on the chair haha... people getting shot through their brain can't even fall backwards, they would have to become stiff. Nope, your muscles give up when you're shot through the brain, so you fall down onto your legs and maybe even break them with your weight.

All revolvers are pistols, but not all pistols are revolvers. Power depends on the caliber. 10mm, .41 magnum, .44 magnum, those are about the most powerful commonly used/available handgun calibers.
There are more powerful hunting calibers like the ,454 Casull, .45-70 Government, .50 S&W, and even bigger, but the guns that fire these types of rounds are usually large-framed, very heavy handguns specifically purchased for hunting, and are not as common as the smaller, less "hand-cannon"-type calibers I mentioned above.
Either a revolver or a pistol will do mucho damage if a large enough round is used. Lesser calibers like 9mm, .380, .38 special, .357 magnum, will not do as much destruction to the body/head, but are still pretty likely to kill you.
Even a .22 caliber will kill you easily if the shot is well-placed, it just won't make a huge splatter mess, but a lot of blood may leak out after the shot. Both my dad and one of my best friends growing up killed themselves with .22 rifles. I saw both scenes and there was a lot of blood even with the smaller weapon. Think Budd Dwyer type blood leakage.
