Nah I got mine because I work with older folks, have chronic illnesses, and am generally not ignorant. I got sick during the pandemic and was grateful that my symptoms were pretty minimal, some of my other friends - both vaxxed and unvaxxed - have not been so lucky. I'm glad you were just fine and hope your family is as well.
There's a reason death toll numbers are higher in certain areas, laughably so in "1st world countries" like the US. It's a shame the unvaccinated are willingly spreading falsities after having literally seen the trouble they're causing, but I'll happily continue to be labelled the idiot because it only makes the other side look worse the more they speak.
I'm going to go worry about my chronic leukemia turning into something acute, because I've got my shots and don't find covid scary anymore - only the idiots spreading misinformation when the writing is on the fucking wall. This is an illness that might not exist anymore but no, because of all the special cunts afraid to take 5 minutes to actually learn something decide to favour their freedom. Congratulations.
Hopefully when you get cancer it's not a point of what you choose to put into your body or believe it's still a hoax when your body starts shutting down.

I think a lot of people had an issue with it because we were initially told it would stop the infection outright. It was not sold as a therapy until it was proven that you could still catch the virus and spread it. Then you are receiving boosters tailored for variants that are long gone. Also, Americans are generally obese and diabetes-ridden, so that played a huge part in the death numbers. I am wishing you well in your journey.

I didn't mean to necessarily generalize Americans, I'm not high and mighty just because I'm Canadian, but I continue to be baffled by it's weird disparities. America is a truly beautiful country I hope to travel across someday.

The statements were that if enough people followed guidelines and recommendations, it could be brought under control and possibly eliminated as a pandemic, such as has been done with other contagions. But the problem is, that relied on people not being idiots and listening to "alt-truths" they were getting from sources with an agenda to push. Don't blame the system for failing because you made it fail.
