Its crazy when you watch the news reports from that day. The moment the first plane hit they were discussing this as an accident. Nowadays we automatically assume any tragedy thats not a natural disaster was done on purpose. Some of you may be too young to remember but the 90s were an era of such optimism and hope. That all died on that day.

If the US was a person, Vietnam was that punch that staggers him. He still has his hands up, but he’s bloodied, and you can tell he’s out of it. 9/11 was like the right hook that lays his ass out. No we’re the land of PATRIOT/RESTRICT Act, cops LARPing as soldiers, etc.

It was a wild day. I awoke to my radio alarm shrieking about missiles hitting NYC. I was 15 that day I remember it very, very vividly. It still doesn’t even seem totally real.
