Yeah.. to an extent. At least now we have early warning systems to tell us that we have to evacuate this that and whatnot - rather than in the past (especially in the time when Pompeii was fucked up rough to the ground) where they don't really have much to go for. They just think on their hearts and judge on their own perspectives.
