Was that house built on the river? He should have evacuated long time ago. Wonder if he was stuck or refused to leave thought he was safe. He def died though once it collapsed. That was really poor judgment.

It's really not that complicated - and you could guess what happened if you spent enough time on websites similar to this - the house was built beside the river: guy went to sleep, wild rains turned the river into a torrent, and rushing water eroded the bank of the river, undercutting the house. Guy wakes up as he feels the house start to settle - and doesn't have time to get out. And the description of the event under the video SAYS he died.
