looks like he got KO'd (knocked out) then woke up drowning. Poor entry, he should've jumped feet first, arms to the side, feet together from that height. Instead it looked like he went knees first, head down which KO'd him when his head hit the water

Yes agreed, possible mini face plant upon entry

It's possible that from the height he was at, he could've broken a bone or two. Surface tension + velocity don't mix well.

This guy knows somethin about falling into bodies of water. Navy has specific falling formation for jumping off ships. Legs crossed with feet together (prevent water blast into rectum), pinch nostrils closed with one hand and elbow close to body, other arm flat all the way down to your thigh, fall straight down (ideally).

I remember seeing a TV show that explained this a while ago, but I think it was more of a hypothetical "what if?" type of situation that while your chances are still slim, this pose will probably give you a fighting chance to survive falling into a body of water.

This idiot on the other hand, did everything wrong.

I also thought knees/head belly flop. But video shows otherwise

I think he woke up with aspirated water, the choking and coughing would cause panic and wear him out. Alternatively, it looks like he could have got water shot up his anus, which would cause extreme pain, which could also lead to panic and an inability to swim.
