People think drowning is like in the movies bobbing up and down waving your arms with pleas for help. I drowned when I was little and it's completely silent and all I could see was everyone above me still swimming still playing while they had no clue I had sunk to the bottom

long time ago had a kid over playing with my son at an apartment pool, he was in the hot tub and stood up in the center, water was just over his head height. Only way you would know is watching, because he bobbed up and down with his arms in the air, trying to get his head up. Saved him before it became anything more serious.

People don't understand the importance of that "no lifeguard, swim at your own risk" sign. means someone should stay sober and alert the entire time.
