Don't drunk people have the natural instinct to fight for survival? I would have thought the sensation of drowning would activate their survival instincts, and the body would release a large dose of adrenaline that would override drunkenness? There's so many cases of drunk people becoming insta-sober in life-and-death situations like this

I was bored so I read some shit, according this https://injuryprevention.bmj.com/content/10/2/107

a blood alcohol level of 0.10 g/100 ml have about 10 times the risk of death associated with recreational boating compared with persons who have not been drinking

water seems like an unlikely match to insta sober…due to reaction time

I’d assume people think they instantly sober up but in reality they are still drunk

I feel like once you go under if you’re extremely intoxicated you can become easily disoriented about which way is up or down, and if someone has heavy clothes and shoes on it’s harder not to sink.
