Pretty cool how in the first clip you can see the image quality of the water benefiting from its proximity to a high contrast object. Unfortunate that the high contrast object didn't benefit from his proximity to his "friends"

What should they have done, jumped down and died too? I doubt they even knew he was in trouble until a few moments. We have the context they didn't at the time.

I'm from a big party lake and we jumped off cliffs like this regularly. The inexperience and lack of foresight leads to my lack of sympathy.

Was thinking more like they could exit the bridge to the left and climb down the hill to the water

What I think I learned on here or reddit was you should never help a drowning person as they will drag you down with them as they are trying to hang on for Dear life. So if they were to help ideally you'd want the emergency services involved but he'll be dead by time they get there.

Not sure why I'd never thought of that before but one valuable lesson I learnt on the Internet.

Same with electricity. You'll just die too the second you touch them. If we're friends and you died becaise of me I'd be pissed. (Not really because I'm dead, but still)

Can't you just float nearby them and wait until they pass out before helping them? I know about them panicking and dragging you down with them, the advice being to kick them off you. I'd just wait until they float quietly

You wouldn’t have enough time to get them to shore and resuscitated before lack of oxygen (permanent brain damage after 60 seconds) turns them into a vegetable but nice try!
