CHILD WARNING [CHILD WARNING] Chinese kid drowns in public pool, goes unnoticed until end

Repost with longer video + original audio and some context.

If you're retarded like me and took a while to find the kid, he jumps into the pool by the ladder near the bottom of the clip and sinks near instantaneously, around the 16 second mark.

Context:

On August 14th, 2022, an unnamed 8yr old from the Lianyuan city of China drowned in a public pool after a minute of struggle despite the presence of others nearby. At one point, another child could be observed jumping near him, though he must've not seen his struggling as a sign of genuine distress.

There are a number of articles that mostly regurgitate the same information. The one below makes an interesting note of how children may not have the presence of mind to call out for help like adults would in that situation, and their flails to stay afloat could be taken as play. The article lists the signs of youth drowning to know when it's time to take a child out of the water.

Maybe I'm a no lifer, but it's pretty sad that I'm theoretically a better lifeguard than 99% of actual Chinese lifeguards just because I randomly watched about 15 minutes of ''spotthedrowningchild" on the website with that same name 10 years or so ago. Just from that I made mental notes of how drowning looks and saw this being the exact same as all of those within a second. Maybe they don't have any education for lifeguarding over there, but how can people who are employed to safeguard a pool be so brazen as to not even muster the interest to look on the internet one time for 'what does a drowning person look like.' I wouldn't be surprised either if this white shirt waste of oxygen had been a 'lifeguard' for a decade already either.
