CHILD WARNING [CHILD WARNING] Chinese baby drowns in kiddie pool despite best efforts of nearby child and presence of mother on phone

7-31-2018, Beibeilamu pool, Fuzhou, mainland China

On the 31st of July, 2018, a child's first birthday becomes a nightmare as one year old Xiao Ai's lifebuoy flipped over and plunged her headfirst into the water. Though the other child attempted to save her, even trying to pull her back up and give her the floatation device back, he simply could not. He can be seen trying to grab the attention of the nearby woman, which initially went ignored as the mother batted away at the child then turned her back on him as if annoyed, going back to her mobile device.

After administering CPR, the mother ran to a local clinic, but the doctor there refused to provide care due to inadequate equipment. By the time she found a taxi and made it to Jinshan Provincial Hospital, more than 20 minutes had already passed. The baby girl’s lips were already purple and her body was cold. Heartbeat resumed but no respiratory response.

She was pronounced brain dead at the hospital and could not breathe on her own without assistance. Information on her current status could not be found. According to comprehensive land media reports, the mother of the baby girl said that the staff originally put on the baby girl a vest-style life jacket, but the mother thought it was too big, so she replaced it with a sitting swim ring.

It's always those pools, it's always flipping over in a ring, and it's always china. What the fuuuuuuck. How can people just assume their baby is safe in there??? If anyone could be bothered to keep an eye on the kids on the pool these kids would probably be alive
