Probably collapsed lungs upon impact. It's like hitting concrete.

The way he fell didn't help either. If he had gone vertical/feet first he would've had a better chance.

The best way to fall from a long altitude on water is on your feet ? What about the head

head might knock you out. if its deep water you can dive, but you need your arms out in front of your head to break the surface tension of the water first, a broken finger or hand is much eaiser to swim with than cracked skull or broken legs

Pretty sure people who have to jump into water like rescuers soldiers etc, are told the proper way is legs together feet first hold your nose with one hand and hold your elbow with the other across your body

Depending on the water temperature he may just have a heart attack. This is what usually happens in those situations. The force of the impact doesn't help either of course.
