Burning flesh of any kind is an awful smell. You'll know what I mean if you leave a hamburger on the stove until it literally catches fire. But before it gets to the point of actually burning, where it's being cooked, that's not bad at all. Just like any other kind of meat. In my career as a firefighter/paramedic I experienced that smell several times.
But all that said, in India burning humans probably smell like curry. LOL
