Man climbed a pole and grabbed wires to electrocute himself after stabbing his partner to death. Belém.

The incident occurred on Friday 2nd, in the Pedreira neighbourhood, in Belém.

The male, later identified as, Flávio Cavalcante Sarmento was seen scrambling over rooftop then before climbing the pole, screaming then grabbing high voltage wires and electrocuting himself, his body falling to the ground with a loud thud. Witnesses recorded the scene of him being electrocuted.

Police went to locate his partner, only to find her stabbed to death. It is assumed the her own screams alerted neighbours, who called the police.

According to information from the Military Police, the victim identified as Silvana Santos de Oliveira, aged 53 years old, was stabbed to death inside her own home, located on Travessa Antônio Baena, between Visconde de Inhaúma and Marquês de Herval avenues.

No media or pictures of her death has been released at this time.

Flávio, according to the police, would have taken off the electronic anklet he wore after the crime, which would have also alerted authorities. The agents who were at the scene responding to the occurrence found the electronic equipment on the ground, a few metres from his body. He had been accused of assault and theft.

Flávio's body was rescued and sent to the Hospital Metropolitano de Urgência e Emergência, in Ananindeua, in Greater Belém barely alive and badly burnt. It is believed he succumbed to his injuries before arrival. Both will require autopsies.
