The truck wasn't high enough to touch the wire by itself even with the speakers/whatever they're sitting on so looks like the dude on the right caused it all. He either completed a good enough connection just touching it with his hand or by bringing down the wire to touch the truck when he passed out.

Touching power lines will always cause a connection like that, power cables are 7 core steel which is bare with about maybe 11kv through them so old mate is rooted

Poor country with shitty utility systems. In wealthier countries these live wires are high up and unreachable. But no, you can’t just go around touching a lot of them. You can test your luck with a ladder or a cherry picker if you really want.

The problem isn't just touching the wire. Simultaneously touching the wire and the ground completes the circuit through your body. Thats why birds can sit on wires without harm. In western countries power lines are mostly higher up and away from people making it pretty hard for something like this to happen.
