That doesn't help dating the footage though. None of the equipment used in these videos existed in 1903, besides maybe one of the bolt gun models. I saw at least one MAS-38 SMG. Mass production of those didn't begin until 1939 and the French weren't making very many until after WWII concluded.

Just did some more searching, the French occupied the country till 1962 which was the Algerian war of independence
