50 different views of the South Tower getting hit (i dont know how this isnt a repost)

My ex-wife and I were in our house in rural southeast Minnesota. I was ready to go to work and decided to turn on the TV since I had a few minutes before I had to head out the door. It was a beautiful, cloudless morning, just like in NYC. I turn on the TV, I see the north tower burning for a second, then the shot switches to the second plane hitting the south tower. I have no idea what's happening at this point and I'm wondering if this is some kind of dramatization or something, just like when I turned on the TV five seconds before the space shuttle Challenger blew up in 1986. Same thoughts and feelings. PTSD I guess. I was like, huh? Wtaf is going on?

So I listen to the broadcast for a minute, come to understand what's going on, called to my wife to "come see this", and then called my boss, which I was about to do anyway because it was the time I called him every work day. I said, "You guys need to turn on the TV because it looks like somebody just flew two planes into the World Trade Center, and the second one was a passenger jet". He was incredulous. He went to the conference room and turned on the TV after my call, and all business stopped because the whole place, about 50 people, spent the next few hours watching TV, plant manager included.

After I got off the phone with my boss, I headed out to my first service call of the day, about ten minutes from home in a tiny town, at a farmer-type feed store. They had the TV on and were fully informed. I did my job, fixed the problem, and just as I was about to leave the first tower collapsed. On live frigging TV. At 8-something AM on a beautiful day. I had this sick, helpless feeling that I'll never forget. No one realized it at the time, of course, but something in the cosmos of politics, humanity, and world relations changed at that moment, I mean on an all-time, world history type of scale.

I was 34 years old at the time. I spent the rest of that day and the week with a burning knot of anger in my gut, and I seriously considered joining the military for the first time in my life.

That day and the next couple of days were surreal, as I said, with all aircraft grounded, the nervous chatter on the radio, and everyone trying to find out what was actually going on and what may happen next. Trade Center, Pentagon, Shanksville... Just unreal. I will never forget it.
