Depends on the grenades I think. Like mines some grenades are made to hurt someone rather than killing someone because if you hurt someone who needs medical help it takes more people out of the fight at that moment than when you outright kill someone. I think he bled out though can't see him surviving with loads of fragmentation in his body.
