The incident occurred after police personnel arrived at the home he shared with his partner, who had reported him for alleged repeated domestic violence.While the police were interviewing the alleged victim, the man tried to escape arrest by descending through the building's internal balconies, at which point he fell with a crash.
The death was confirmed by the prosecutor on duty for the Garden City, Carolina Monsalve, who indicated that "the accused jumped from the eighth floor, resulting in serious injuries, and later died in the hospital despite medical efforts to save his life.
