The patient died instantly from the strong impact on the pavement, in events that occurred in a hospital center in Cali, Valle del Cauca.
The scene was recorded in a video where it can be seen when the 66-year-old woman hangs from the outside of one of the hospital windows, and falls into the void amid the screams and hubbub of those who are watching.
In the window, on the fifth floor of the building, it can be seen that a person tried to hold the woman, but her effort was in vain. The case caused dismay among the community and the authorities speak of suicide.
That was the version delivered by Cali's Health Secretary, Miyerlandi Torres, who said in local media that the woman was fighting the coronavirus when the tragedy occurred. The official regretted what happened and said that, so far, there are no known mental health problems or other reasons that have led the woman to make the decision to jump into the void.

Why are they calling the pavement a void? I've never seen concrete or asphalt referred to as a void before. I usually only ever hear that term in video games where there's like a deep or endless pit that will kill you. I think also for portals that lead to dangerous areas but that's less common.
