This is pretty much it. Tankies are all “Epic Chinese communists” but China has an insanely individualistic culture, way beyond what you see in America.

If you help an injured stranger they can and will say you caused the accident and sue you, and they'll win because the court will see you rendering aid as admission of guilt. They aren't even being malicious, they genuinely can't comprehend why you would get involved in a stranger's affairs for no reason.
