Antenna tower collapses - worker falls to his death -

This is the horrific moment a worker who was dismantling a 190ft antenna plummeted to his death after the metal structure collapsed.

Ricardo Matias Legrato, 28, fell 131ft after the upper section of the antenna gave way, sending him and another worker hurling towards the ground.

Footage of the incident shows the two men clinging to the antenna when the metal at the top of the structure appears to snap off.

Shortly after, the metal where the men are poised erodes and crashes to the ground with the men still holding on.

The second worker - along with a third waiting at the bottom of the antenna - was injured in the incident.

I'm not an expert but surely that tower was not meant to be freestanding without guy wires, let alone climbed

Usually when you want to drop a tower like that, you cut the guy wires and let it fall. I have never seen the guy wires removed and then the tower is climbed (clumb?) And dismanteled. They must have had the fine idea of rebuilding it somewhere else (dumb?).
