Tabuk, Kalinga, Philippines - Jun 12, 2022
A male nurse died after he fell from a zip line at a leisure facility in Tabuk, Kalinga on Sunday afternoon, police reported yesterday.
Paul Gaayon was declared dead on arrival at the Kalinga Provincial Hospital.
A relative of the victim told police that his brother was able to reach the end point of the zip line in his first try.
But the victim's hands reportedly slipped off the zip line holder in his second try, causing him to fall.
The owner of the property told police that his staff had briefed the victim and his companions about the safety measures that should be taken while inside the park.
The owner admitted that the victim fell into a safety net, but it was not able to contain his weight.
The net was ripped apart, causing Gaayon to fall to the ground.
