Tyre Sampson, from Missouri, was visiting ICON park in Orlando with another family, according to Orange County deputies. At about 11 p.m., he fell off the "Free Fall" ride, which is the tallest free-standing drop tower in the world at 430 feet.
Sampson was taken to a hospital where he later died. The incident appears to be a tragic accident.

For me it's imagining being on the opposite side of the ride to the accident. Imagine having just enjoyed an exciting drop, getting off and then learning that someone had just died while you were enjoying yourself. Imagine that survivor's guilt.

That's fair. Although survivor's guilt isn't always rational.
I guess the better point to make would have been the realisation that if someone could be killed due to the negligence of a ride's operator, who's to say you couldn't. That being said, you're right about the fact that this incident was clearly caused by the fact that the victim was overweight and shouldn't have been on the ride, which is something most people don't need to worry about.

I highly doubt it was malicious. I don't think they knew that someone had fallen off the ride. You've got to remember that some of the riders are facing in the opposite direction to the accident, so it's unlikely that they actually saw or heard it.
