PSA: If you're ever in a position like this to grab an assailant's gun off the ground and you pull it off, you say “get on the ground right now, don't come any closer or I'll shoot you” and then if they do come closer, you shoot.
You say it both as a warning and to put forth your criteria for killing him as a psychological trick for YOU to make sure you don't hesitate if the bad guy crosses that line.
If that's not your speed, DON'T POINT THE GUN AT HIM, either run or if you don't value your life, just toss the gun away from him as far as you can. Hesitation with a lethal weapon gets the wrong people killed.
