While enjoying this time off, a 32-year-old active military police officer was attacked during a general fight at a nightclub on Thursday night (2nd February), in Contagem, in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte.
Lieutenant Colonel Bruno Assunção, commander of the 39th Battalion, reported that eight people were arrested, six of whom were suspected of the attacks and two employees of the establishment.
"The police are still looking for two suspects of participation in the confusion", he said.
The Military Police reported witnesses saying that the confusion began with an argument involving a man and a woman, who would have been harassed.
After the discussion, the woman's boyfriend, unhappy with the situation, allegedly attacked the alleged perpetrator of the harassment and started a general fight.
Off duty, the military policeman fell to the ground and was subjected to a session of kicks and punches. Also according to the PM, images from the nightclub's closed circuit show at least three men participating in the attacks.
The relationship between the assaulted military police officer and the couple and the aggressors has not been clarified.
The victim was rescued and sent in serious condition to a hospital in Betim.
