In this case, I wouldnt say so since Christianity was purposefully brought into the region by Europeans and thus became part of the locals tradition. In fact, its more important to their tradition now than it is for Europeans.
The Europeans didnt bring any witch burning traditions as far as Im aware, but such things naturally follow/develop for anyone who actually believes in the Bible which clearly portrays witchcraft as a real thing. Europeans arent really religious anymore which is why such traditions died off amongst them

700 years? I'd say ancient Roman's knew more. Africans were never meant for civilized society. The countries that colonized over there Fd up real bad.
