I cut the tip of my thumb off when playing with a very sharp knife trying to open it with one hand.

And just last night I came close to cutting myself with a big box cutter while opening a cardboard box of cat litter. I love the Olfa box cutters, but specifically the 25mm version, that has a larger thicker stronger blade than almost all the other ones you see most people use.

I think these more sturdy ones are safer. I regularly cut the cardboard in a circular shape, to strenthen the carry handle - but the normal size box cutter is likely to break a blade when cutting circles in thick cardboard.

And last night, I was opening the box while pulling the blade towards me - which is something I would tell people never to do - but I figure I've opened a thousand cat litter boxes this way. And I was wearing several layers of clothing. But it was kind a close.

And two times when I was younger - I cut my stupid thumb to the bone - once with a chisel when stupid me was holding a piece of wood in my hand - trying to 'chisel' the wood. Dumb dumb me not using a vise. That was one time I sort of passed out for a sec. You look at your wound, and for the first half second - between heart pumps, there isn't any blood in the wound yet - and you can actually see the open wound going all the way to the white bone - before the blood fills the wound, obscuring the wound.

And another time, stupid stupid me was holding a pair of bike forks in my hand, cutting them with a hacksaw - and the saw slipped - and cut right to the bone.

Me too but never on that scale! We need details to put it in perspective.
