Oh yeah there are about 7000 injuries involving fireworks in the July month.

47 is only around the amount of incidents involving fingers that actually came all the way off and couldn't be reattached. The day itself doesn't have other finger-related statistics but the general hand injuries relating to fireworks in the month of July is around 3100 a year.

Also, most people just drive to another state to get their fireworks, since only some states have firework laws and the laws aren't aren't enforced at all
