Maybe he's not dead, if he did not bled. Sometimes doctors can saw both hands back. But wont get the 100% sensitivity. Still better than no hands.

It is one thing to attach a severed body part that is otherwise intact, but this man's arms were crushed nearly flat. Virtually all the blood vessels, the tendons, joints, etc. are physically destroyed. It is not a matter of not having functioning nerves, he does not have functioning arms, with or without re-attaching. He would need a double-arm donor, if such a thing existed.
