The workers of one of the service stations on the road that leads from Cúcuta to Puerto Santander are dismayed , after the gunshot attack suffered by a security guard on Friday, at 9:49 at night .

When Alexander Navarro Salazar was carrying out his duties at the Nuevo Terminal service station, two armed men arrived and shot him several times, leaving him seriously injured . This was evident in one of the security cameras at the scene.

“We are full of panic because it is a situation that has never occurred to us here. The two guys arrived on the motorcycle as if they were going to tank, the driver had his helmet on and the grill man was the one who was armed,” commented one of the workers.

The videos show when, in a matter of seconds, the gunmen reached where Navarro Salazar was and without saying a word they aimed at his head , shooting him twice .

When the victim fell to the floor, the grillman got out and took the guard's weapon and then fled with his accomplice. The weapon that the victim had, when she was attacked, was a 38 millimeter caliber revolver .

The victim's colleagues ran to help her and in a private vehicle, they took her to a care center where, at the time of this edition, she was struggling between life and death.

Minutes after the incident, the Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta (Mecuc) arrived at the site to compile interviews and camera videos to identify the characteristics of those responsible. In addition to determining if it really was a robbery .

“That was for stealing his gun, because what else can such a person owe. It is unfortunate that these things happen when we are simply working and Alexander is not new here,” said the guard at another nearby service station.

He added that, “we belong to a private security company and although they keep us rotating, he had already been at that station for quite some time.”

They ask to investigate

The relatives of Navarro Salazar, in the midst of their pain, demand that the authorities move forward with the investigations into the incident, as they assured that until yesterday afternoon, no one had approached the scene of the incident to continue investigating.

“They only went at the time of the case, they stayed for a while and left. "We really want to investigate what happened, because those guys are still out there and no one does anything. This seems incredible to us, we are dismayed," commented a relative of the victim.
