You would think being there to witness this, or watching videos, or hearing about what they do to thieves who are caught stealing, would be enough for most individuals to think "yea. That 50 cent banana tree ain't worth the pain and agony, along with never being able to walk properly again, I think I'll pass on swiping one of them", yet it goes to show how desperate some people get or how arrogant some people are who commit these crimes, knowing the consequences, yet believe they're smarter than everyone and won't ever get caught. It's mind boggling because that punishment is absolutely brutal.
