The atrocity took place on the night of Thursday 6th, in the Arenoso neighbourhood, in Salvador. The occurrence was at the end of the line and on Rua do Canal. Buses stopped running in the area and all residents were ushered indoors.
The Comando Vermelho faction, heavily armed, and in a group of thirty men led by drug dealer “Biel”, invaded the streets of the neighbourhood. According to preliminary information sent to Informe Baiano, members of the Bonde do Maluco (BDM) were killed, including the leader who was known as “Panela”. One of the victims had his head brutally hacked off.
Buildings and vehicles parked on public roads were damaged by gunfire. The criminals still graffitied several walls and shouted “where are the BDCu?”.
Videos recorded by them was then released on social media and other outlets.
The Military and Civil Police teams are on site. The day before, several barricades were set up in the region and the PM was called.
No civilians or other residents were harmed.
