In some african colony like 60-70 years ago they were chopping limb of kids for their parents petty crime. Like the father steal a bag of rice and they cut both legs of his 5year old daughter. I think belgian did that but im sure they were not the only one.

Definitely cooking oil, the sound the oil makes when the stump (correct me if I’m wrong, english is not my first language) hits the oil sounds exactly like cooking oil, also the stump turns black the moment after
