A heifer is a young cow that has not birthed yet. She looks like she birthed the calf that's running around. Also, that's probably why she was aggressive.

There is no bull here. Both are cows. One was chained to the poll. The other cow just gave birth if you look at the blood on her back and hindlegs.
Cows react differently and they surly dont forget. With how rough the woman is handling the newborn the cow got violent to protect it.
Not sure why it went for the child first but the cow either has never seen the child and freaked or went for the smallest target.
