Could he have survived this?

In general, with some lathe videos I wonder if they did survive it, albeit very dazed and with heavy injuries. Of course, in other videos they are...well, all over the place, literally, and in those cases it's quite clear they did not make it. But with videos like this, I do wonder - they weren't rotated for long/many spins, so couldn't they have survived, although with their arm badly broken?

On another note: what DOES one die when being wrapped around a lathe?
