This is the closest I’ve ever seen one of these accidents, it look unreal, cartoonish, god damn

Ironically it's also one of the cleanest I've seen. Usually getting caught in one of these machines means they'll be scraping up your remains like if they were leftovers in a pot of goulash. This guy at least stayed in one piece, so to speak...

It even looked survivable if not life changing. (I realize his legs and arm are fscked... and his brain also could have been damaged from the force.) But yeah, usually these accidents cause what imagine meat puppet or meat sock to look...

I don't think it was, the neck/head was severely displaced around 0:12-0:13. The head was significantly below shoulder level.

I used to work with a small lathe and still respected the shit out of that thing. Short sleeves, tight apron, goggles, extra tightness/safety checks, the works. Even on a small scale those things can kill you in terrible ways.

Cleanest Lathe death? All the other videos/photos of these accidents are absolutely sprayed in blood/gore

Personally, this is why I come to this site. One split second and his life was over. It reminds me of how quickly life can come to an end.

Nothing but a bit of carelessness.

It looks strangely rubbery in a sense. I see his shirt getting caught but after that I don’t understand what exactly happened. He was clearly contorted in some fashion but I can’t wrap my mind around what exactly occurred.

Looks like he came out in one piece. Do we know if he died or not?

This is why the practice of TURNING THE MACHINE OFF BEFORE ADJUSTING IT is drilled into the heads of the people at the shop I work in.
