The accident occurred on Wednesday 24th, in the neighbourhood of Mutirão, in the municipality of Timon, in Maranhão.
The female, name not released, was involved in a head on crash whilst riding her motorbike and wearing no helmet. Witnesses say they saw her swerved slightly before she smashed into a truck, breaking her femur and degloving her thigh, exposing bone.
Emergency services were triggered and raced to the accident, the police arrived first and comforted the victim before an ambulance arrived. They treated her injuries at the scene before rushing her to hospital. No one else was injured.
The driver was spoken to, breathalysed and then released without charge, as inquiries continue into the cause of the nasty accident.
