Rabies in Man (US Army Medical Service, 1955) WITH AUDIO

Here is a classic old educational video I managed to find which documents a man with rabies from the moment he's laid into hospital, to his last heartbeat. The music adds a certain level of subtle yet haunting discomfort to it.

At this stage, the fatality rate is 100%. If you get bit by a wild animal, SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION IMMEDIATELY.

Stay safe out there.

Here is the original tape on youtube (without audio):

Classic case of capitalism. Majority of Rabies cases are happening in under developed or developing world. That's the reason Pharma companies, institutions are not hell bent on developing a cure even after 70 years.

Cancer,AIDS basically all those diseases that can infect first world citizens ,There is continuous R&D being done. Not so much for Rabies. Heck, we even managed to come up with COVID vaccine within a year. Nobody is doing shit for Ebola. Money talks.

Vaccines for animals to prevent the potential spreading is incredibly expensive for many developing countries, and approximately 55 thousand people die from Rabies each year...mostly in Asia and Africa. It's truly barbaric.

pretty sure the rabies vaccine makes you immune to it for about 2 years. so... if ur gonna be fucking around wild rabid animals all day just get it every couple years and ull be fine

If a covid vaccine is your example it's a terrible one lol.

Also it's really simple. There's no money in cures.

The scariest part is that many people find out they're infected when it's already too damn late.

Also, Rabies does not travel in your blood. In fact, a blood test won't even tell you if you've got it.

There is no treatment, and every stage gets more agonising than the last.

Once you turn symptomatic, it's over, you might aswell start planning your funeral and take the easy way out before you're bedbound.
