I have 2 inquiries about effortposts here.

1. What is the minimum word length for a WPD effortpost?

2. Is asking AI individual questions allowed for the sake of adding information to effortposts? (Eg, I ask A.I a small question about a mass killer, then without 100% copying A.I, I summarize up what the A.I says using prior vocabulary knowledge, and put it in my post) Not asking to make a whole essay, but small questions for certain segments, I hope that clears it up, thank you. :marseyembrace: :marseybegging:

1. No set-in-stone minimum, but only a couple paragraphs won't cut it.

2. We would prefer you didn't as AI is unreliable. https://www.euronews.com/next/2023/03/31/man-ends-his-life-after-an-ai-chatbot-encouraged-him-to-sacrifice-himself-to-stop-climate-

Instead what we want is for you to research actual articles, absorb the information, then put it all in your own words with pictures and video as necessary and informative. Copy pasting or getting an AI to write it for you is never an effort post. It's also nice when you include your sources at the end.

1, alright, no "official" minimum word count, alr, thanks

2. Ok, I understand, I was more focused on question 2 because I only used news articles, wikipedia, and YT videos on my effortpost, thinking AI was not completely allowed.

Thanks! :#marseythumbsup:

AI has been known to give false answers. So if you do use it to answer a question, always make sure to fact check the answer it gives.

Yeah, If I ever plan on summarizing or asking AI minor questions on events, I will try to verify it to ensure the legitimacy of the effortpost! :marseythanks:

Hi Guev.

Fishyman is one of the admins on this site, so you can trust his replies carry the authority of the site itself, and you should completely trust his answers.

He's completely right that AI completely makes some stuff up. Out of thin air.

https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/29/tech/ai-chatbot-hallucinations/index.html

If you've been in the US, you'll recognize the name Michael Cohen.

He got into trouble, after being disbarred, he went on the net to research info using AI, and AI gave him a list of legal cases to support his defense.

He gave this list to his lawyer, who included it in a brief to the judge.

The only problem was that NONE OF THOSE CASES EXISTED.

AI simply imagined these legal cases. It's called AI hallucination.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hallucination_(artificial_intelligence)

This, as you can imagine, would have been embarrassing for Michael, and his stupid lawyer who didn't check that the cases existed or were real.

https://www.npr.org/2023/12/30/1222273745/michael-cohen-ai-fake-legal-cases

So if you do use AI to research parts of an article, be darned sure you then check EVERY fact is true afterwards.

yeah, I've heard of the Michael Cohen case, and how used examples of "cases" that werent even real. Scary, right? This is why whenever I search something up on AI, i use a few articles manually handwritten by actual people to confirm AI's claims.

Appreciate the lookout as well, and those links

That had to have been SO embarrassing for him, as a disbarred lawyer to pass to the judge through his lawyer cases that completely didn't exist.

And his lawyer probably got a reputational black eye from this.
