Sometimes I go through the Random User with a Profile Anthem thing on WPD and I see a very diverse amount of music within these profiles. Typically I can imagine most people who are into black metal culture have seen gore here and there; but it made me curious on what a gore watcher who looks at obscene content listens to regularly. I had seen some mini discussions in my psychology class this year in college and quite a few people believed that the genre of music you listen to explains your personality or traits about yourself. This could hold some truth, people who listen to country are obviously going to be perceived a certain way, but what would you assume a gore watcher listens to? Maybe something dark like the content they view? Elliot Rodger, the perpetrator in the Isla Vista shooting, listened to lots of 1990-2000's music. The music he enjoyed had romantic and sentimental undertones. Rather than Adam Lanza, the perpetrator in the Sandy Hook shooting, who had listened to Cannibal Corpse on occasion mixed in with some DDR songs. I feel like music taste for people who commit crimes/view them are unpredictable and diverse. The notion that music can expose you as a person can be accurate in rare cases but I don't believe its credible. That being said, what do you guys listen to? Do you believe your music taste affects your personality and others? feel free to share your opinions! I'm so curious :pppp
