Yeah tbh I'm not a huge gatekeeper I mean who am I to gate keep when I wasn't born in the 80s and 90s to grow up with their music but I can totally understand the gate keeping. So like if people hear them from a show like stranger things and generally likes them and listens to other songs other then the basic bitch ones like puppets, sandman, and or the unforgiven then like by all means but like if your just trying to be a trendy annoying tiktoker and only listen to like that one song just because it's popular with gen z and then to only throw it back into metallica's face because of "offensive things" they did in their past and try cancelling them on twitter then gate keeping is 100% normal and healthy for a community. But again by all means if you actually enjoy their music then I can only do one thing and that's to welcome you to the community. Anyways that's my rant lol.

By far my favorite is Sad But True. Don't really listen to Load, Reload, or St Anger but those have a few tracks I like. I mostly just listen to their classic albums like Kill Em All, Ride the Lightning, And Justice For All... Harvester of Sorrow is a goodie!

technically, yeah. higher amplitude (louder) sound waves hold more energy than lower amplitude (quiet) ones do, so our brains perceive louder music as better than quieter music.
this only works to a certain extent, though. making a song too loud can drown out the more extreme ends of a songs dyanmic frequency range (how high pitched or low pitched the sounds are, and how well we can hear them), which ends up making it sound worse.

Yeah I mean I understand some of the criticism towards the band I mean sure the bands has its ups and downs nobody in the band is perfect and has their own problems but A a good chunk of the criticism I see is just nonsense slander towards the band (mostly lars lol) Some lighthearted jokes that I actually find funny, and others just coming from Dave Mustaine fans that are completely unoriginal. And honestly I like both bands, not too the same level as each other but Megadeth has a few tracks that I certainty enjoy listening too every once and a while. Ok ted talk over now.
