According to multiple reports online, she's gone through at least 7 public defenders who've all withdrawn from the case. She's spent at least four years in pretrial confinement and has not had a trial yet.

They do. You don't have the right to specific legal representation. Defendents and Public Defenders have the right to request new counsel if they feel they can't work with their given defendant/counsel. The judge has to approve it though.
