I saw somewhere else that supposedly the grandma was the woman’s mother in law, so she is basically sacrificing a child to get rid of her. It’s not like she just came home in the middle of this fucking tragedy, she was on standby waiting for grandma to breath her last. That little pixie wand clearly doesn't hurt enough to be of any use for deterring bad behavior. My mom used the thorns on like a rose or whatever whenever she beat me, and that caused damage lemme tell yuh. I had cuts, and those cuts swelled like crazy. Very painful. But also a good deterrent for shit behavior.

Fine line between behavior correction and child abuse, though. Disciplining a violence-prone kid with more violence is only going to lead to… more violence, and in his mind, a dehumanization of the family members who abuse or discipline him.
