So much wrong was done in this video.
Apparently the officer is a vet in the air force for 24 years, 8 years working for thermopolis PD and 2 years as a sergeant.
Yet he's still a fucking retard.
Went in gung ho, thinking he's saving the fucking planet by killing a meth dealer. What a stupid son of a bitch.
The officer was shot once in the arm and once in the right side of the chest. Life threatening injuries, was air lifted and entered a coma, which he survived.
His victim, Laramore, was pronounced dead on the scene.
And obviously, the special investigator assigned found no wrong doing.

You're an even bigger retard. It was an arrest that turned into a shootout because the meth dealer is scum living with scum.
The officer IS a retard. But so are you.

No legal authority to enter premises of the house just for refusing to identify and ultimately resisting arrest.
The officer escalated the situation by forcing their way into their household.
No permission to be on the property, no evidence in plain sight, no exigent circumstances.
You can't have an officer accuse any one they fancy of being under arrest and just enter their premise because they become “a fleeing suspect”. Which is one of the conditions of exigent circumstances. As a matter of fact, the suspect didn't flee. They held their ground.
So legally speaking, that was plain murder.
If you don't agree, i hope you encounter an officer which is on the same wavelength as you.

You didn't pay attention to what the officer said at 0:34 and also likely don't know the law. When an officer is doing an investigation and has reasonable suspicion you are involved, you must identify yourself. Failing to identify or giving false information (which is what this guy did) is an arrestable offense.
True, but he was legally within the law to do it. However he should have got backup and continued trying to get the suspect to obey lawful commands while he waited.
An officer has the right to enter and break obstacles in his path in order to lawfully arrest you.
The suspect wasn't under arrest for fleeing, but for refusing lawful commands to exit the house so he can be lawfully arrested due to what was described in the top point.
Legally speaking, it was self defense which is why the officer was cleared of all wrongdoing.
Me too, because I will obey lawful commands. And if I feel the officer is in the wrong then I will fight it in court and not on the street.

Any dumb motherfucker can go buy an officers uniform from a surplus store and try to breaking in . All these babble does not Trump the constitution, where is the search warrant he cannot enter the house. Period.
I'm glad it's dumb motherfucker got shot. Maybe he'll get a search warrant with a judge before breaking in.

You think the cop teleported there? He came with a cop car, which the suspect could see. Plus the suspect never gave any indication he doubted the validity of the officer's identity. Furthermore you don't need an arrest warrant when you're on the spot and the crime was committed right in front of you or soon before (like cops chasing a bank robber). Or else criminals could run away to their house and be like "nya nya nya nya! You can't get me now until you get an arrest warrant!"

I didn't know this was later in the day, that many hours had passed since the suspect gave a false name and the cop confronting him at his house. Then yea the laws are a little different. Still doesn't give you the right to shoot a cop, and the article discusses that. It was a good read, thanks.

I'm only going to reply once to the gobbledegook you wrote. And i won't entertain you further, because you're plainly wrong.
1. You must do your investigation without the person identifying themselves. This has been upheld in courts over and over and over again. Why is this the case now? because they "started" an investigation within the food place. That investigation ended there and then because this person was released. The officer going to the citizen's private property HAS NO LEGAL STANDING. "reinitiating" an investigation doesn't fucking exist. From the moment Laramore was released, the officer needed to get much more evidence before he should've approached that citizens private property.
2. We agree.
3. No, they are not allowed to if the arrest is ILLEGAL, which in this case it was. Because the only crime Laramore was guilty of was being in vicinity with the meth inside the baby changing station. At which he was an employee of and they had a plethora of reasons of going inside that toilet. To assume nefarious activity first before adopting a reasonable approach makes you a tyrant and you're shitting on the concept of innocent until proven guilty.
4. You lack reading comprehension. The logical thought process dismissed all the conditions of the officer having any duty and right to enter the building, and i've spoken about the "fleeing suspect" status because in that situation, exigent circumstances can intervene - which actually provide the officer with the authority to enter private property without consent and warrant, again ONLY if the arrest is legal - which in this case was illegal.
5. In what world is illegal breaching and entering with the intent of kidnapping a person, since the intent of the officer was made known, and at the same time you have your family member in the house which is also your duty to protect - fucking self defence? That's a crazy perspective to have, and you should be in an insane asylum.
6. Can't wait for it to happen, please write it in your will that the bodycam of the officer must be uploaded to this website, and tag your fucking username.

Get a search warrant and an arrest warrant, since that's what both the Constitution and common sense require. Going through the door like John Rambo is illegal AND stupid. There was no exigency here, just a cop high on being a cop, and he almost died for it.

When a misdemeanor like obstruction of justice occurs in an officer's presence, they generally do not need a warrant to enter the home. The Fourth Amendment allows for exigent circumstances, which can include situations where an officer believes evidence is being destroyed.

Evidence of the misdemeanor of obstruction? You lost me.
There's no exigency even if officer witnessed obstruction earlier that day. Because he wasn't in "hot pursuit", officer can swear an affidavit to a judge and judge can issue a warrant, ezpz.
Like, let's say you made a misdemeanor moving violation in a cop's presence but they were occupied with something life-or-death and couldn't effect a stop. They can't just use your LP to track you down and kick your door in for that either.

That obviously is a completely different circumstance. If you aren't stopped for a misdemeanor, you can't be charged. If that were the case, everybody could be charged for anything at anytime. That was not the case here. You wouldn't want to flee a misdemeanor moving violation either. If you did, you would be chased, and assuming you did make it to your house, you would be arrested when you got there. The fact that the suspect is fleeing is circumstantial enough to justify entry into the suspects abode, not to mention the possibility of destruction of evidence (the crack he was shooting at McDonald's). What a lot of people, including yourself, fail to realize is that misdemeanors are still criminal conduct that warrant giving chase to a fleeing suspect.

In addition to being a wannabe-Rambo retard, the officer here was being a cunt. He was emotionally agitated over the dude being standoffish, and didn't want to answer the guy's fairly reasonable question of “what did I do?” or accept his attempts to comply. After being overly confrontational he needlessly escalated the situation by breaking the door down and presumably take the guy by force single-handedly, which is a stupid idea that was purely motivated by his need to swing his dick around and act tough. Dude just wanted to flex his authority on someone and got pissy that the other guy didn't immediately bow to him in total subservience. Also as someone who was in the military, he should have known that this was a stupid fucking decision to just charge in there after arguing with an obviously non complaint suspect.

The American justice system. In another case, a cop was just found not guilty of shooting his unarmed friend during a heated argument. Twice in the head, twice in the neck and once in the arm.
