Wrong. The stupid shitbag punk never even touched the cops gun - but what it looks like he DID do was steal a folding knife off the gunbelt of the cop.
Because the punk then had a weapon that could kill the cop, the cop shot him - BUT the cop did a TERRIBLE job of drawing his gun. The cop failed to successfully draw his gun on the first 3 attempts. It wasn't until his 4th attempt that he got his gun out. You can see him yanking on his gun unsuccessfully 3 times.
Some of you might know that almost all police officers have holsters that make it hard for stupid criminals to steal a cops gun - because these holsters have "retention devices" - so if you don't know about those, you try to pull the gun out of a cops holster, and you fail - but the cop yanked at his gun once, then again, then again, and it wasn't until his fourth yank on his own gun that he released it from his holster.
Some of you may think that it looks like the shooting was not justified, but the cop kept shooting while the scumbag still had the knife in his hand. Watch the right hand of the shitbag.

So it turns out that the guy shot was a homeless Navy vet.
The shooting was determined to be justified.
A later news report says the suspect stole a flashlight from the belt of the cop, and at some point, which I didn't notice in this video, the suspect put his hand on the gun of the cop.

They probably determined the shooting justfied because the suspect had punched the cop, had put his hand on the gun of the cop, and the cop might not have known what the suspect had in his right hand - the cop may have reasonably assumed it was a weapon.

''Justified'' is insane.. Here in Spain, and basically all of Europe.. we deal with knifes and shit with non lethal.. US cops fr just lazy pigs, and love to shoot when they see the opportunity arrise.

Yes, justified. Punched a police officer, grabbed an item from officers duty belt and then tried to grab a loaded sidearm. Justified written all over it, and no you cannont really non-lethally take down someone like that.
We see the officer trying to wrestle the suspect for a bit, however when the suspect grabs the sidearm, hes cooked.

Justified isnt the term id use. Privileged is. He doesnt reach for the gun in the video he reaches for his equipment. And he didnt have a weapon he grabbed the cops flashlight. Yes he assaulted the cop, but in anerica if i punch you in the face and you respond by pulling out a gun and shooting me 7 times you will go to jail. Only cops have this kind of privilge. No matter the sitiation wether an assailant has a baseball bat or a knife. 1-3 bullets max. It does not take many bullets to put a person down. Ive seen many videos of cops shooting people 8, 9, 10 times when the first bullet instantly dropped them. This cop wanted a reason to kill and id never trust a person like him to keep peace or safety for me and my family
