People commit suicide on impulse all the time, it doesn’t have to be planned to be suicide. I highly doubt he was mentally retarded and didn’t know what would happen if he pointed the gun at them.

Yes but what if genuinely thought he could take the cops? I’ll admit that I can’t know 100% if that is the case or not, but if it was the case, is it still consider suicide?
